The Rocklin Police Department every year partners with us to bring an amazing program to Rocklin youth called the Junior Police Academy (JPA). The Junior Police Academy gives local youth a small peek into the world of law enforcement. The JPA training officers will lead the cadets through a modified Police Academy. This academy will simulate and give the cadets an idea of what it takes to be an officer. It is designed to build long lasting memories and give the cadets a glimpse into the rewarding career of law enforcement. Our Academy will include patrol tactics, vehicle stops, crime scene investigation, and much more. The cadets will also get to see some of the specialty units at the department like SWAT, Motors, and EOD (bomb squad).
To participate in the JPA you will need to submit an application and write a short essay. It is limited to 20 Cadets per academy. JPA is open to Rocklin residents who are entering 7th, 8th or 9th grade. The academy runs from 9am to 12pm and each cadet is provided with an academy shirt and study binder. Cadets will be provided with snacks for the day but do need to bring a water bottle. The cost to attend the academy is 40 dollars.
The Application can be downloaded from this website, submitted online or picked up at Rocklin Police Station when registration opens (for download or electronic submission there will be a link to the left when registration opens). If you would like more information about this program or others. Please feel free to contact Youth Services Sergeant Chris Osborne at email@example.com or at 916-625-5442 (email preferred).
