Junior Police Academy 2017

The Rocklin Police Department is partnering with Rock PAL for another Junior Police Academy (JPA).  The Junior Police Academy will give local youth "cadets" a small peek into the world of law enforcement. The JPA training officers will lead the cadets through a modified Police Academy.  This academy will simulate and give the cadets an idea of what it takes to be an officer.  It is designed to build long lasting memories and give the cadets a glimpse into the rewarding career of law enforcement. Our Academy will include patrol tactics, vehicle stops, crime scene investigation, and much more.  The cadets will also get to see some of the specialty units at the department like SWAT, Motors, and EOD (bomb squad).

JPA is a program that you apply for by an application and short essay. It is limited to 20 Cadets per academy.  JPA is open to Rocklin residents who are entering 7th, 8th or 9th grade.

The dates for this years JPA are Monday July 24th- 28th from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The program cost 20 dollars per cadet.  Cadets will get a t-shirt, course binder, snacks and certificate upon completion.

The Application can be downloaded here or it can be picked up at Rocklin Police Station.  The deadline to submit an application is June 23rd at 5pm. If you would like more information about this program or others. Please feel free to contact Sergeant Chris Osborne at chris.osborne@rocklin.ca.us or at 916-625-5400 (email preferred)
